Qualified Charitable Distributions
A tax-smart way to make a lasting impact for wildlife and wild places.
An IRA qualified charitable distribution (QCD) is another fantastic option to help continue the work of Nashville Zoo. If you are 70 ½ or older, making a QCD can help lower the income and taxes from the IRA withdrawals.
There are many benefits to making qualified charitable distributions, including:
- Avoiding taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to Nashville Zoo
- Reducing your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions
- Supporting an organization near and dear to your heart
To make a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA, contact your IRA plan administrator. Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to Nashville Zoo. Please note that IRA QCDs do not qualify for a charitable deduction.
If you have any questions about an IRA qualified charitable distribution, please contact us. We would be happy to assist you.
