Future Plans

Decorative texture

As one of the most visited attractions in the region, Nashville Zoo has become a major destination! Adults, children, businesses, and organizations visit the Zoo to see animals up close, be a part of nature, learn more about conservation, and gain peace & inspiration from our natural world. With your help, the Zoo continues to grow and thrive!

Orangutan Habitat

Nashville Zoo plans to break ground on a brand-new orangutan habitat in 2026, our most ambitious exhibit yet. This space will not only highlight one of the world’s most intelligent and endangered species but will also include several other incredible animals in a rich, tropical environment. The exhibit’s two-story viewing building will feature a second-floor observation level, allowing guests to view orangutans eye-to-eye as they move through the treetops.

Expanding Education

As we look to the future, we’re also planning a new education space designed to expand our offerings for children and families. Whether we build a brand-new facility or repurpose an existing space, this initiative will support dynamic, hands-on learning experiences for all ages.
